Inventory & manufacturing
Stock, batches and production that value themselves
Turn on stock tracking for any product and Finocket keeps a running ledger that values itself: every sale draws stock down at weighted-average cost, credit notes add it back, and your balance sheet carries Closing Stock while your P&L shows Cost of Goods Sold and gross profit. There's no e-commerce lock-in here — it's inventory as pure finance, whether you sell from a shop, a warehouse or a workshop.
Live stock ledger with weighted-average COGS
Set an opening balance and reorder level on any product; sales draw it down automatically, purchases add it back, and each product carries a weighted-average cost so per-product and total stock value are always current.
Low-stock alerts
Products at or below their reorder level are flagged before you sell out, so restocking is a decision you make on time, not after a stockout.
Batches & expiry
Track batches with expiry dates for anything with a shelf life, and get 'Expiring soon' alerts with the quantity still on hand — the depth a pharmacy or FMCG business needs.
Multiple godowns with transfers
Store stock across several locations and move goods between them with a transfer, recorded as a matched pair so your total on hand never changes — only the split.
Sales & purchase orders
Raise sales orders and purchase orders, track them open → fulfilled, and convert a completed order into an invoice or a purchase bill in one tap.
Bill of materials & production runs
Define a bill of materials for a finished product with a rolled-up standard cost, then record a production run — Finocket consumes the raw materials and adds the finished goods to stock automatically, every movement visible as Manufactured / Consumed.
Folds into your final accounts
Closing Stock on the balance sheet and COGS with gross profit on the P&L, at weighted-average cost — a presentation overlay you can toggle that always keeps the sheet balanced.
Serial numbers & FIFO, when you want them
Weighted-average cost is the default; turn on FIFO cost layers or per-unit serial tracking for any item that needs it. A tracked serial moves in_stock → sold → returned and can never be sold twice — the depth for high-value or regulated goods, opt-in item by item.
Landed costs on purchases
Add freight, duty or clearing on a purchase bill and Finocket apportions it across the received stock lines by value or quantity (to the paise, with the remainder on the largest line) and pushes it onto those items' cost layers — so your FIFO or weighted-average valuation reflects true landed cost, not just the invoice price.
RFQ vendor-compare → PO, reorder → draft PO
Ask several vendors for a quote on the same line set, compare them on a best-price grid, and convert the winner into a purchase order at exactly the quoted prices. And when an item drops to its reorder level, one tap seeds a draft PO to its preferred vendor — draft only, reviewed by you, never auto-sent to a supplier.
Work centers & routing
Route a bill of materials through named work centers with step-level consume and produce, and roll each step's labour (minutes × the centre's hourly rate) into the finished-goods value. It's routing and labour costing, not full MRP — there's no capacity scheduling, shop-floor dispatch or work-in-progress sub-ledger.
