Projects let you group work under a client — with location, dates and a status badge — while the Timer tracks hours against a client at an hourly rate with a billable flag. Today's entries total up live, and finished billable time turns into a draft invoice in a couple of taps.
How do I create a project?
- Tap Add → Project.
- Pick the client the project belongs to.
- Name the project and add its location (a site address, a city).
- Set the start and end dates and a status: Planned, Ongoing, Completed or Dropped.
- Add notes and save — you land on the client's page, where the project now lives.
The Projects list is searchable and shows each project with its status badge. Tapping a project card opens the client's page — the client is the hub where projects, visits and money meet. Set the status carefully when you create the project: there's no project edit screen yet, so the status you save is the status it keeps.
How do I track my time?
Open Timer:
- Pick the client you're working for — and, optionally, the project the time belongs to.
- Describe the task (“Elevation drawings — first floor”).
- Enter your ₹/hour rate and flip the billable switch if this time should be charged.
- Tap Start. A live HH:MM:SS clock runs — you can leave the page; the timer keeps going.
- Tap Stop when you're done.
Today's entries list below the timer shows every stopped entry with its duration, plus rollups: total hours today and the billable value (hours × your rate). Delete an entry if you started it by mistake. You can run one timer at a time — start a new one only after stopping the current one.
How do I invoice my tracked hours?
Straight from the Timer page. An Unbilled time card groups your finished billable entries by client. Tap Create invoice on a client's group, then in the dialog:
- Choose which entries to include.
- Pick the layout — Detailed puts one invoice line per entry, Summary combines everything into a single line.
- Set a default hourly rate for any entries that were tracked without one.
Finocket creates a draft invoice — review, adjust and send it like any other invoice. The included entries are marked billed, so the same hour can never be billed twice. If you delete the draft, the entries are released back to unbilled.
Who can use projects and the timer?
Owners and assistants have full access. Accountants see projects read-only. Both modules are on by default for business and freelancer accounts, and can be toggled in Profile → Modules & features. Saves work offline and sync later.
