A dynamic QR code is one you print once and control forever. Finocket encodes a short redirect instead of a fixed link, so you can change where the printed code lands at any time — no reprint — and every scan is counted, by day and by device.
How do I create a dynamic QR code?
- Turn on QR & tracking in Modules & features, then open QR & tracking.
- Name the code after where it will live — “shopfront poster”, “table tent”, “delivery box sticker”.
- Enter the destination link a scan should open, and optionally a campaign and placement so you can tell codes apart later.
- Pick colours and dot style, tap Create code, and download the image to print.
The printed pattern holds only a short Finocket link; each scan gets a redirect to your destination with your campaign tags (UTM) merged in.
How do I change where a printed code points?
Open the code, tap Repoint, paste the new destination, save. The very next scan of the same printed sticker lands on the new link. A festival offer today, a booking page next month, a new menu next season — one sticker, changed from your phone. The printed code never expires or deactivates.
What analytics do I get on scans?
Every code carries a running scan count. Expand Recent scans & by device to see totals broken down by device type (mobile/tablet/desktop) and by day, plus the most recent scans with timestamps. It's the honest read on which placement actually pulls. Privacy is built in: scan events store a hashed IP, never the raw address — you get counts and trends, not surveillance.
How does a scan become a named lead?
Point the code at one of your hosted forms or landing pages. A scan quietly sets two cookies on the visitor's phone — a 1-year source cookie and a 90-day QR cookie — so when they submit the form (even days later), the lead lands in your CRM carrying the QR's campaign and placement. The form's consent block still applies: a lead without consent is stored but suppressed. A well-worded consent block on that form is also the cleanest way to collect marketing opt-ins offline.
When should I use the free generator instead?
The free QR generator makes a branded PNG/SVG with no sign-up — but it bakes in a fixed link, so it can't be tracked or repointed. Use it for one-off links you'll never change; use dynamic codes for anything printed, paid for, or worth measuring.
